DIY: Cannabis-Infused Hot Apple Cider

One of our most favorite Holiday treats comes in a golden sweet and spicy liquid form. What may that be? Besides the obvious answer of maybe a nice bubbly concentrate ready to be inhaled, you might have also guessed Hot Apple Cider...and if you did, you would be correct!

Nothing, and we mean nothing, beats the warmth that a cup of this stuff brings you on a cold, blustery day. We did, however, find that adding a tincture to our cider did make the experience even more pleasant (as one might have expected). We really enjoy Mary's Medicinals 'The Remedy' as it compliments the citrus flavors in the brew you just created. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1-gallon fresh apple cider or unfiltered apple juice 1 orange, cut into rounds 1 medium size (1 ½ inch) piece of fresh ginger, sliced 5 cinnamon sticks 1 tablespoon whole cloves Mary's Medicinals 'The Remedy' THC Tincture  

Supplies:

5 quart or large slow cooker Knife Cheesecloth or paper coffee filter  

Directions:

1) Fill the slow cooker or large pot with cider or juice. Add orange and ginger into the pot or slow cooker. Then, add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and any additional/optional spices you would like. **IF you would like to make this easier to serve, you can use the cheesecloth or paper coffee filter to create a sachet that you would tie closed with string.

2) Cook on slow for 4 hours slow cooker. Cook on low for one-hour on the stovetop. 3) When finished, drain over the cheesecloth to capture additional spices and then serve warm in mugs garnished with orange slices.

4) Add desired drops of Mary's Medicinals tincture to your completed mixture to infuse.

NOTES: Leftover cider can be stored for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. If cooking on a stovetop, simmer the cider covered over low heat on the stovetop for about an hour

OTHER MIX-INS: 4-star anise pods, ½ teaspoon whole allspice berries, ½ teaspoon whole black peppercorns
